John Daly

According to a report I read from the Associated Press, John Daly, currently competing in the Standford St Jude Championship has filed a complaint against his wife for assault. It seems his wife attacked him with a steak knife.

Daly, has won the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 British Open. It sounds like he is more of a rock band star than golfer having a past of alcohol rehab, gambling, at which he loses, trashing hotel rooms and suspensions...kind of the bad boy of the golf circuit.

Daly didn't speak to reporters but the golfer did issue a statment saying he was the "victim of an assault by my wife." Uh-oh...nothing like marital problems to affect a guy's concentration on the putting green. He has the local police and the official tour security working to protect him.

It sounds like he might need a little protection, according to the news report, Daly's wife, Sherrie was indicted, along with her parents, in Mississippi on charges stemming from what authorities said was a drug ring and an illegal gambling operation. She plead guilty in 2004 to a charge of conspiracy to structure a
transaction to evade the reporting requirement. She served a five-month sentence in January 2006, then filed for divorce in Shelby County on Oct. 17, 2006. Sounds like a nice family.....

His autobiography -- My Life in and out of the Rough: The Truth Behind All That Bull You Think You Know About Me -- details his gambling and drinking addiction with one chapter devoted to his three former wives that was titled, "All My Exes Wear Rolexes."

If the bad boys of golf interest you, John's book might be worth a read.
